The French company Decathlon defies the current norms. Whilst other business focus on online-only shopping models they have gradually expanded the number of physical stores they have. Seeing an opening in the retail market that other brands have ignored, quality products (many there own brand) in organized minimalist stores. In an era where many sports stores are sprawling, disorganized and discount-driven.
B'Twin Triban range
Decathlon launched there own brand of bikes, the B'Twin range, which is carefully crafted and surprisingly excellent value with a starting price of £249 for an aluminium framed bike. The B'Twin range starts with the Triban 100 road bike, which has a sporty ride, though still comfortable for day to day riding. The bike comes with an aluminium frame, steel forks and seven-speed Shimano shifting with Tektro brakes. The Triban 500 comes with a carbon fork for £349. Next is the Triban 520 with Shimano Sora groupset at £499. The Triban 540 (£679) is supplied with a Shimano 105 groupset, Tektro brakes and Mavic Aksium wheels. The Triban range offers women's fit, narrower handlebars and seat choices. The range also comes with flat handlebars to use as an urban/commute option.
B'Twin Ultra range
The Ultra range has an attractive sloping top tube with defined curves and changes in tube thickness. The Ultras have a more relaxed geometry than the Triban range for extended periods in the saddle. The Ultra 900 aluminium road bike (£799) is the entry bike with a Shimano 105 groupset with 105 brakes with Mavic Aksium wheels. Next in the range is the Ultra 920 (£999) which is provided with Shimano Ultegra, Mavic Cosmic Elite wheels and a Fizik Arione seat.
B'Twin Ultra Aluminum disk brake bikes
The Ultra range offers two models with disc brakes, ideal for the wetter periods of the year. The Ultra 500 AG GF disc road bike (£899) is supplied with Shimano Sora shifting and flat mount Shimano brakes. A carbon fork Mavic Aksium wheels and 28c Mavic tyres.The second bike is the Ultra 520 AF GF disc with SRAM Rival (£1299), it has SRAM Rival Hydraulic brakes, Mavic Ksyrium disc wheels.
B'Twin Ultra Carbon bikes
B'Twin offers three Ultra Carbon bikes which offer spectacular value even at the higher price points that these bikes ask. Firstly the Ultra 900 CF carbon road bike (£1399) is supplied with a carbon fork, Shimano 105 groupset and Mavic Aksium wheels. Next is the Ultra 920 (£1899) which has a Shimano Ultegra groupset and Shimano Ultegra C24 wheels. Finally, the Ultra 940 CF carbon road bike (£3499) which has Dura Ace groupset and Zipp 03 wheels.
